That’s the funny thing about being in a restaurant. Time really flies!

On the food front,

We’ve added a new fish dish to the menu this week and have been rotating guest desserts through the menu.

On the drinks front,

We still have Fullers ESB on tap. When it’s out we’re hoping to get Fullers Mr Harry in – it’s world class beer (just like the ESB).

Also, we’re still making the Top C Martini – special prize for the first person to email and tell me what Top C stands for – if you like martinis but haven’t had ours it’s worth trying. If you don’t like martinis it’s definitely worth trying! It will surprise you. Not least because it’s a proper martini.

We’re also still having a lot of fun with the single malts, so if you like scotch or have always wondered what the fuss was about, come in and try one of our comparators – you get three samples of fine single malt – so you can really pick out the differences. It’s a great way to get into the whole thing.

Lots has been happening here since I last wrote. I’ve fallen over several times, several things have fallen on my head and I’ve managed to spray myself with Pepsi, beer and wine on different occasions. So nothing new there then.

However, we have completed the menu adjustment to appetisers and mains. We’ll use the apps in lieu of our previous tapas menu – so a selection of apps will hopefully serve the same purpose but in a more interesting way with more variety on the plates. As for the entrees we’re going to changing a few out to keep things interesting soon – so please do watch this space.

Otherwise…… New Beer! We now have a couple of new Belgian Beers in. On tap we have Chimay – we’re one of only a few places in Portland that carries this classic Belgian beer made by Trappist monks. We also have Piraat Ale – A fantastic Belgian bottle conditioned ale.

Also a new selection of single malts in. Auchentoshan Triple Wood, Glen Dronach, Ardbeg Naim Beist, Laphroaig 18 and Glenmorangie 18.

Don’t forget we’re still majoring in the classic martini! If you like martinis it’s worth trying. If you don’t it’s definitely worth trying, you might be very surprised.

We were going to decorate the space appropriately – I’d brought my bank statements in and was going to put them all over the restaurant but then I decided that some things are just too scary.

Everyone did dress up though. They’ve all came as me! (Raj).

Apparently it doesn’t get much more frightening than that. They’re all going on my “To be Haunted When I’m Gone” List.

So now that 2010 is really underway we’re cracking on. We have a few new dishes on the menu and more to come. We’ve added some interesting cocktails to the list and our bar is getting quite interesting – I’m especially getting into single malts.

I’lll definitely have to write more here in the days to come. It’s not as if I’m short of a word or two but I’m an awful typist.
